Invasive Plant Hunt - Guided Nature Walk with the Friends

About the Walk: Join Friends of the Fells to search for Invasive Plant species in the Fells! We will learn about what defines a type of plant as "invasive" to an area, how invasive plants impact the Fells ecosystem and what we can do as users of the Fells to help manage the spread of these plants and encourage local flora. Please feel free to bring a hand-lens, binoculars, and/or a camera to improve your plant viewing skills. ). We recommend that attendees dress in weather-appropriate attire and footwear in addition to carrying insect repellent and/or sunscreen.

Parking is available at the South Border Road Parking Lot (Google Maps location). We will meet at the Bellevue Pond trailhead. We’ll travel around the pond, take a slight detour down St. Denis Road, and then switch back up Quarry Road and back down to the parking lot. Please note that there may be muddy conditions and rocky terrain on this route.
