If you have taken the course before, we ask that you hold off on signing up so others will have an opportunity.

Be CONFIDENT you have the skills to spend the day on the water! (If you have taken this course in the past, no information has changed.)
This basic course will go over techniques for flatwater kayaking AND stand-up paddleboard (SUP), as well as safety and legal information, basic weather-spotting techniques, emergency preparedness and different maneuvers on the water. You will have the option to go on a guided paddle around the lake in both the kayak and the SUP.
Participants will have the option to sign up for kayaking, paddle boarding or BOTH sessions (recommended.)
The course is geared for the whole family! We have youth-sized kayaks available for smaller children. Your child MUST be able to operate a kayak and a paddle on their own (we recommend 3rd graders and above!) Children 12 and under will need to be accompanied by an adult.
There is no cost for this course. All vehicles are required to have a Kansas state park vehicle permit.

This course is subject to cancellation based on weather.
Participants will be notified and will be given first priority on a make-up date.
