Heads up, folks - this class will sell out! Crazy - we know. But folks love sugar cookies (and maybe they think our jokes are pretty funny too). So don't wait to sign up!
🐾 Learn how to decorate some puuuur-fect cookies at this kitty-themed cookie class! 🧶 Sugar Cookie Classes is here to help you "jump" into royal icing 101! In this 1.5-hour-long class, we'll cover the basics of sugar cookies, you'll get our royal icing and cookie recipe, and we'll talk about how to strategize the best ways to decorate sugar cookies! Everything you'll need is provided at class along with two live, in-person instructors.
You'll leave class with a great understanding of the basics of sugar cookies plus a few cool techniques we'll cover in class! More details on refunds, credits, DIY Kits, and FAQs are below - looking forward to having you with us!
This class is for the beginner cookier or for the person who is just curious about what cookie decorating is all about! And if you're just looking to have a little sugar-filled fun on a Saturday, you're welcome too! If you have limited experience with sugar cookies, found yourself frustrated with royal icing, or are trying to have fun with family or friends, this is the class for you! We will be doing a fun Cute Cats kitty-themed set that tastes amazing and will look even better once you’ve learned all the basic skills to get started in sugar.
📦 We provide everything you'll need from cookies, icing, sprinkles, and a box to take your awesome creations home in - ☝ we just need YOU!
This class is on Saturday, August 9th from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm - 1.5 hours feels like a lot of time, but I promise we'll need it. 📅 Come by yourself, bring your best friend, or bring the family - we have seating up to 10 people! It's a blast whether you're coming with a friend, family member, or solo!
🧒 This class is good for ages 8+, but if you'd like to leave the kiddos at home, purchase a DIY add-on kit at check-out! The kits are great for kids at home, plus - we'll send you the class PowerPoint so you can teach them yourself! Heads up - you can purchase just the DIY kits at Eventbrite check-out, you are not required to attend a class to snag a DIY kit (you'll pick them up during the class though). Kiddos will need a parent who also purchases a ticket. 👇 More details below.

😍 Who doesn’t love getting out and doing something fun while also eating delicious cookies!? That’s what Sugar Cookie Classes is all about!
📌 Our classes are based in Northern Virginia and cater to the beginner cookier or people just looking to have fun learning a new skill. Whether you want a fun date, a girls-night-out or just want to explore what cookie decorating is on your own - 🪑 we have a spot for you.
👓 All you will need to bring is yourself, and we take care of the rest. If you'd like, grab an apron, and bring eyeglasses so you can see the instructional PowerPoint. You will get a set of pre-baked cookies (pretty tasty if I do say so myself), already-made icing, as well as all the supplies you will need to decorate.
⏰ Our classes are an hour and a half. That will give us enough time to decorate the cookies and answer any questions along the way. You will leave the class with your very own box of your very own newly decorated cookies!
Our classes are always changing! We have classes throughout the year which highlight different themes so make sure to sign up for our newsletter so you can get in on the cookie action!
Note - our classes no longer require masks for vaccinated individuals. Our classes follow the current recommendations by the Virginia government and health organizations which currently are none - so that's what we're doing as well.
😷 You will not be required to wear a mask throughout the class; however, you can choose to wear a mask if you'd like! We provide masks, hand sanitizer, disinfectant, thermometers, and disinfectant wipes for attendees. Each station is disinfected along with the venue.
⚠️ If you're sick - here's our cancelation policy. Note - if you don't cancel before 7 days, you can give your ticket to a friend to attend in your place. Unfortunately, Eventbrite discontinued its credit option, so after 7 days, no refunds and no credits are offered. But you can have someone else attend!

📦 Order your sugar cookie class kit and take the class home with you to teach a child or friend! Our class kits come with everything you'll use in class, and we'll email you the class PowerPoint so you can follow our step-by-step instructions from home! Sugar Cookie Class DIY Kits are assembled for you before your class starts, and you'll take them with you after class.
🎟️ Save money! You don't need to purchase an in-person class ticket to order a DIY Kit either! If you want to skip the in-person instruction, you can just order a DIY kit (or 5, hey, don't mind). It'll be ready for pick-up during the in-person class (11:00 - 12:30 PM), and you can swing by and snag it from the table near the door (6712 Old McLean Village Dr., Suite A, McLean, VA 22101). They're a great option if you're lookin' for something to let the kids do at home or if our classes are sold out. 😭
Each Cookie Class DIY Kit includes:
⏰ How long can a kit last after I get home? Depending on how you store your icing (you know, fridge vs freezer), your kits can last for a week or longer. Freezing cookies and icing keeps them fresh for a long time, but we recommend using your kit as soon as possible - ideally in the first week after you've taken it home.
⚠️🥚 Allergens: Eggs, gluten, and nuts are present in the kitchen used to bake these cookies and icing. Please consider your allergies before registering.
🧀 Say Cheese! Photos are taken throughout class (and posted to our Facebook page so you can see them too). Camera shy? 📸 No sweat! Just let us know it's a camera no-no.
💵 Eventbrite Fees: Your ticket price includes your Eventbrite fees; 💵 however, Eventbrite does not refund its fees if you need to cancel. If you cancel your ticket for a refund, we'll give you a refund minus those Eventbrite fees - since we don't get this back either. Eventbrite keeps it regardless of whether you show up or cancel.😭
❄ If We Cancel Class: In the event of inclement weather or if an instructor has car issues (blaming you, I95), you'll receive a GIANT apology and a full refund regardless of the cut-off time for refunds. Weather events are called on a case-by-case basis, but know we'll reach out to keep you updated if Mother Nature is havin' a bad morning.
🚘 Fear of navigating new parking lots? No sweat - Here's the parking diagram. You'll come from Old McLean Village Dr. into a collection of brown brick commercial buildings. We're in the alcove closest to Old Chain Bridge Road. There's plenty of parking - it's free, just snag what you can see.

Info: Practice piping on our piping paper before we get started on cookies. We will cover some do’s and don’ts when decorating cookies. Great way to warm up!
Info: Decorate each cookie with specialized instruction from our class instructors. This will soak up the majority of our class time!
Info: Box up all your cookies and get ready to take them home! Get a special photo of you and your cookies (totally optional)!
