Our next hike will be Saturday, 19-Jul-2025, at Erwin Park. We will meet at the main parking lot inside the park at 9:00AM. The trail is a mountain bike trail which is also open to hikers.
Directions to Erwin Park:
From Hwy 75 take the Bloomdale Road exit in north McKinney.
Go West on Bloomdale Road about 0.8 miles.
Go North on N Hardin Blvd about 0.1 mile.
Go West on road 164 about 1 mile.
Go North on road 1006 about 0.35 miles to the park entrance on the right. There are several signs at the entrance.
Enter the park and turn left at the "T". The main parking lot is just ahead of you. It has many picnic tables, some swings, and portalets.
NOTE: The area surrounding Erwin Park is under heavy construction, there are many closed roads if you deviate from this route. Bringing your GPS is a good idea. The address of Erwin Park is 4300 Co Rd 1006, McKinney, TX 75071.
This trail is maintained by DORBA (Dallas Off Road Bicycle Association). If the trail is too wet they will close the trail. If the trail is closed we will respect their wishes and hike a couple miles on the park road. Trail status is indicated on one of the signs at the entrance as well as on the DORBA web site Trails - Dallas Off-Road Bicycle Association (dorba.org).
