Join us for a compelling Lunch Bunch session with Texas-based painter Patty Rodgers as she explores the essential question: What is painting?
Patty will share her evolution as an artist—from finding her subjects and mediums to navigating creative blocks and defining success on her own terms. After sharing insights from her journey, she’ll invite the audience into a relaxed, open conversation about the meaning of painting and its role in our lives.
This is more than a talk—it's a chance to reflect, connect, and be inspired by the art and heart behind the canvas.
Patty Rodgers, a Texas based painter, creates large colorful oil paintings. Her work centers on
minimalist images of light on objects, interiors, and landscape spaces with a geometric organization.
Patty is a graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design, having earned a BFA in painting, Simmons University, (B.A. in art), and Central CT State University, (art teaching certificate in grades K through 12). Patty taught art in public schools for about ten years in CT and IL, then
began teaching private art lessons at an artist’s co-op in Illinois, and guitar lessons through her home based business, now known as Denton County Guitar Studio.
Patty is a member of VAST, Visual arts society of Texas, and VAL, Visual art league of Lewisville, where she exhibits her work in group shows. Her most recent exhibits in 2025 to 2021 were at VAST and VAL, the Gallery 8680 in Frisco, The Other Art Fair in Dallas, Art Spectrum Miami, and several on-line collections at Saatchiart.com. Patty has been exhibiting in galleries, group shows, various art centers and fairs in Connecticut, Massachusetts, New York, and Illinois since 1981. Her first painting award was given by the well-known artist, Will Barnett. Patty’s art is in private collections all across the United states and in eight different countries. Public collections include Wausau Hospital in WI, and Southern CT State University.

Lunch Bunch Speaker Series is an informal conversation around topics of interest to members and nonmembers. Lunch is not provided, but you are welcome to bring your own. All are welcome. The event is free.
