Welcome to the AfterThought Everything Sock Workshop taught by Alissa Barton and Mary Berry.
What is an AfterThought Everything Sock? We will crank a skein of your yarn into a long tube. You will learn how to insert heels, toes and add a cuff into into your sock tube.
Workshop Schedule:
Friday, June 6th
5pm-9pm – join us for light bites as we learn to crank our socks using the Circular Sock Machine. Mary Berry will walk you through the process as you learn to make your own sock tube.
***BONUS! Bring a 4x4 swatch knitted in a worsted weight yarn and a size 7 or 8 needle to practice picking up stitches using larger yarn before Saturday morning!***
Saturday, June 7th
10 am – 12 pm – Session One with Alissa Barton
12-1 pm – Lunch
1-3 pm – Session Two with Alissa Barton
3-6pm – Optional knit together practicing what we have learned
Please bring with you:
One 100 gram skein of sock yarn
One mini skein in complementary color for contrasting toe, heel, and cuff
Needless: One or more sets of double-pointed needles size 0 or 1; two circular needles in size 0 or 1 (Alissa recommends a 16” length and a 24” length to help you tell them apart.); or one 40” circular needle in size 0 or 1. Note: if you are a slow knitter you may want to bring more than one set.

***Students who cannot attend Friday night can mail their sock yarn to Mary Berry, The Millhouse, 610 Elm Street, Suite 1000, McKinney Texas 75069, to be received prior to June 1, 2025.
Workshop fee: $70 – includes $10 for the sock tube creation
