Healing Arts Workshop: Creating Calm Through Creativity (Parents + Kids)

Join us for a family-friendly event focused on creativity and self-expression through art! This inclusive workshop is especially designed for families with young children who may experience developmental delays or behavioral challenges. Children of all ages are welcome, with a special emphasis on little ones ages 5 and under.

Did you know art can play a significant role in supporting mental health for both children and adults? Art can help individuals process emotions, reduce stress, build self-esteem, and improve overall well-being! Nothing connects parents and kids like art!

Our painting events are a fun creative art party. You and your loved ones will create a beautiful work of art to take home. Flip through our provided inspiration packets to choose what you'd like to paint, and Alicia will guide you and your little ones step by step through the process.

●What are we painting: Adults and their child/children will paint together on canvases. Summer-themed packets will be provided to choose a picture to guide you in creating your paintings. We'll be painting with acrylic paint. You'll learn basic painting skills and build confidence in your newly created art. All paint supplies are provided.

●Food & Drink: Feel free to bring your favorite drinks & snacks. *No peanut or peanut products please*

●Prerequisites: All ages and experience levels are welcome, especially families with young children (ages 5 and under).

●Tickets: All attendees must have a registered ticket so we can plan the room setup, tables, chairs, etc. Adult and child tickets are available on the ticket registration page.

●Location: 5400 W Elm St, McHenry, IL 60050, Basement

Birth to Five Illinois is on a mission to shift the Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) landscape across Illinois by centering the experiences of families and working to assist children to thrive no matter the circumstances or struggles they are faced with.
