South Texas College Theatre and Dance presents The Odyssey by Gregory A Falls and Kurt Beattie.
The production will run on February 19 to February 21 at 7:30 p.m. and will include a matinee at 2 p.m. on February 22. The Thursday, February 19 evening performance will include an American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation.
Performances will take place at STC’s Cooper Center for the Performing Arts Black Box Studio Theatre at 3200 W. Pecan Blvd. in McAllen.
The Odyssey is an action-filled adaptation of Homer’s classic which uses masks, songs, mime and percussion to tell this epic adventure. Join Odysseus and his crew on their journey home as they encounter cyclops, sorceresses, sirens and the gods’ wrath. Meanwhile, Odysseus’ wife, Penelope, and her son, Telemachus, defend their home from ill-intentioned suitors who overstayed their welcome in her home and demand she chooses a new husband.
General admission tickets cost $5. Tickets can be purchased online at www.southtexascollege.edu/go/theatre, or at the door cash only the day of each performance.
