Great Hills Park Clean Up

PARK VOLUNTEER DAY! 🌳 My office is teaming up with the Austin Parks Foundation to reduce fire risk in Great Hills Park by removing “dead-and-down” brush left over from the 2023 ice storm - and we’d love to see you there.

Join your neighbors and your D10 Council Member in supporting your neighborhood park by helping to cut and move brush to the trailhead for haul-away. Dead brush creates #wildfire risk 🔥 and this project will serve as a pilot for a low-cost fire mitigation solution. Fires are a growing threat but your volunteer efforts will help protect the surrounding neighborhood! We need about 25 volunteers to make a big impact, so bring a friend! 💪💪

We'll meet at the Floral Park Trailhead and get started right at 9 AM. Wear long sleeves and pants to protect from scratches, and bring your reusable water bottle. We’ll provide the tools, gloves, and snacks! Thank you for giving back to our parks and green spaces!
