LIVE IN THE ROOM and ON THE ZOOM
The Enchanted Prince by Cat Weatherill
Behind him, Liesl saw a light
- a single blue flame - rising out of the marsh.
‘Don’t look back. Don’t - !’
But it was too late. He had already turned.
Cat presents a glorious collection of full-bodied fairy tales from Old Europe, packed with mouldering marsh queens, clay dolls, talking doves, flying furniture, flowers with the power to wipe a memory clean... total wonder and magic, basically! These are rich and satisfying stories, served with luscious language and shimmering images. If you love exploring the symbolism in fairy tales, you’ll love this.
We are thrilled to welcome Cat back to Matlock, it's been many a long year since her last visit. Cat performs internationally, fuelled almost entirely by tea and biscuits. She is a compelling teller: playful and powerful, sure-footed and bold. She sees stories cinematically and especially loves emotionally-charged, intimate tales.
‘Audiences are invariably spellbound’ Paris L’Express
‘A magical performer’ The Times
‘Always entertaining, often surprising and challenging, but more than that – she is inspirational’ Francesca Kay, Beyond the Border
‘Some people are born to be performers, and Cat Weatherill is one of them’ The Hindu, India
