Day 1 – Thursday
🕖 Fishing: 7:00am – 7:00pm
⚖️ Weigh Station: 3:00pm – 5:00pm
• Fish caught after the weigh station closes may be weighed on Day 2, provided the angler has notified the organisers and the weighmaster has sighted the fish.
• 6:00pm – Briefing & spot prizes
• BBQ + cash/EFTPOS bar open

🚜 Launching & Safety
• Launching from 6:45am daily (two tractors operating)
• Competition commencement/postponement announced at 6:30am daily
• VHF Channel 3 – Call sign: “SPORTS RADIO”
🚨 All boats must:
• Have a working VHF radio
• Call in boat name & crew numbers after leaving the bay
• Call back in once safely returned

📝 Entry Requirements
• Must be a member of a NZSFC affiliated club or the Anglers & Casters Fishing Association
• Non-affiliated anglers must join WSFC for the duration of the tournament
– $20 temporary membership (valid for competition only)
👦 Juniors
• Under 17 years at conclusion of tournament
• Juniors may enter the main competition but must pay the main entry fee

🎣 Fishing Rules (Key Points)
• Maximum line weight: 37kg
• Rod & reel only (electric reels allowed)
• No firearms, nets, longlines, or non-sport fishing gear
• Braid allowed (may not be eligible for NZSFC records)
📍 Fishing Area
• North: Blackhead
• South: Honeycomb Rock
• East: 25 nautical miles
• Boats must remain within radio contact
• One base competition – all boats must launch and return to Castlepoint Bay
🚫 No night fishing
🚫 No non-registered anglers on competition boats
(licensed charter skippers exempt)

🏷 Tagging Rules
• Kingfish must be 75cm or longer
• Photo required showing tag + length
• Tag card must be presented to the weigh station on the day caught

• Only your single heaviest fish per species counts
• All fish must meet MPI size & bag limits
• Scrutineering may occur at any time
• Failure to comply = disqualification
• Cheating = lifetime ban from WSFC tournaments
• No mammal products may be used for bait or burley
