Matariki Beach Bonfire

Matariki Beach Bonfire - Celebrating Waitā

Start your Matariki with a beautiful bonfire at Castlepoint Beach (near the old toilet block).

From 5.30am, join us for karakia, guest speakers and quiet reflection as we celebrate Waitā, the star connected to the ocean.

There will be a sausage sizzle, a fire poi display and time to connect as a community under the morning sky.
