The August purple angels memory café is in the bag! The simple brown paper lunch bag: how can we plan an entire memory café around that? Easy! We have games and activities that use brown paper bags, and we are serving a bag lunch, complete with a lunch swap, as each bag will be slightly different, with a combination of standard lunch items like jell-o and pudding cups, twinkies, cookies, string cheese, fruits and vegetables, and other fun stuff. “Hey, I’ll trade you my pudding cup for your bag of chips!” Lunch bags will also include a typical sandwich: maybe ham and cheese or turkey and swiss, or what about baloney or peanut butter and jelly? Desserts and beverages included. It will be a fun lunch that hopefully brings back fond memories and sparks conversation. We’ll also have music and prizes, along with lots of social time with family and friends. Come check it out.
When: Thursday, August 7, starting at 11:00 am with lunch served at 12:30.
Where: Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 502 W McMillan Street (near the Y) in Marshfield.
The Purple Angels memory café is a casual, friendly, fun social gathering for people living with memory loss, Alzheimer’s disease, and other types of dementia, along with their caregivers, families and friends. It is a free event open to anyone who wants to join us.
