Kids' Acting Academy - "Finding Nemo, Jr." - Summer Camp

We are very excited to announce the relaunch of Marshalltown Community Theatre's Kids' Acting Academy! Students ages 7-18 have the opportunity to learn about the magic of theatre by putting on the show "Finding Nemo JR."! This is a summer day camp that gives students experience with acting, dancing, singing, lighting, sound, and art through making props and set pieces! The program is directed by MCSD staff member, Vanessa Engel, who directed "Elf JR." earlier this year.

Kids' Acting Academy will run Monday, August 4th - Saturday, August 9th at the Marshalltown Performing Arts Center (MHS Auditorium). The cost is $60.00 per student, but scholarships are available through the Marshalltown Youth Foundation. Elementary age students will attend the morning workshops from 8:00 am-12:00 pm. Middle School and High School students will attend the afternoon sessions from 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm. It will be in a workshop format at the start of the week, then we will rehearse to put on the show "Finding Nemo, Jr"! Friday, August 8th will consist of a Family and Friends Showcase (11:00 am for the morning students & 3:00 pm for the afternoon students).

Saturday, August 9th will be our two open to the public performances! Our morning session will perform at 5:00 pm and the afternoon at 7:30 pm. Tickets are $5.00 per person upon arrival.
