Canaan Freedom Colony Homecoming

Dear Canaan Freedom Colony, Canaan Church, and Canaan Elementary Family, Friends, and Supporters!
Please help us get family and other Canaanites to attend our August 2025 homecoming. We plan to have programs on Saturday, August 9th, at noon and Sunday, August 10th at 2:00 pm. Canaan Freedom Colony is 155 years old this year.Please plan to attend and encourage your immediate family. Both will honor and show respect for our ANCESTORS! Spread the word!Make plans now to attend, please!Please keep our ancestor's dreams and aspirations alive! Don't wait! Start today to commit to the sacrifices each of them made for us!Everyone at Canaan is working and volunteering to reclaim Old Canaan Cemetery from the Blalocks and to preserve the last structure remaining from the Old Canaan Freedom Colony era.Below please use the convenient ways to give to support Canaan.When you use the convenient link or QR code to either support the Canaan Building Fund or the Canaan Cemetery Association or both. After being locked out of the Old Canaan Cemetery for over 80 years, the Blalocks still do not want us to have reasonable access!We are working with attorneys from the University of Kentucky and anthropologists from Texas Tech to reach our goal.We need your help! Our ancestors and founders left the tradition of donating $1.00 for each year on Canaan's Anniversary and Homecoming, which would be $155.00 in 2025.However, donating monthly either $1.55 or $15.50 or $155.00, or $1,555 would help keep Canaan, our ancestor's dream alive.Please use the link or QR code today and monthly.
