Holy heck, I don’t even know to write these anymore?! It’s been 5 years!?
Ok here goes…
We’re doing a thing! We’re coming back to say goodbye!
We’re throwing a Party 4 Charlie, our friend whose loss has devastated our social circles and communities in Sydney, on the Northern Rivers, and in countless other places. Charlie fucking loved live music and he adored his friends. Please join us as we get together one last time with Charlie’s favourite singers and bands to celebrate his life.
This event is of course open to everyone, whether you have attended CWP before or not. We are hoping to recreate some of the magic from the CWP days when Charlie was with us and our backs didn’t hurt quite as much; you are very welcome whether you knew Charlie or not.
This will also be our last time gathering under the CWP name before we retire it completely and pretend as though we will one day run a similar event under a different name, even though I live in a motorhome all over the place and Sally is too busy to hang out with me, let alone start organising another live music gig.
We will start the night with a couple of speeches about Charlie, I think the most woo it’ll get is we might have candles. I’ll cry (note to self: pack tissues). Then we’ll seamlessly transition into live music? And when that wraps up maybe a DJ or playlist of Charlie’s favourite songs to sing and dance to? Hope that sounds convincing and professional. I guess it’s fair to say that we are still working out the nuts and bolts but wanted to get this event page up ASAP so you had no excuse to not be there 😅
Oh I should probably mention that this WON’T be at the Townie. It’ll be at the Red Rattler Theatre in Marrickville. Unlike those CWP days I was just making you nostalgic for, this event will be ticketed. Nobody will be turned away for lack of funds; we will need volunteers for door shifts and maybe bump in and bump out so DM us if you’d prefer to vollie for entry.

I’m very keen for us to be together again!! And I mean that even though I have used excessive exclamation marks to cover up that I am depressed!!! Sally is less keen but she is doing this because she secretly missed doing everything for CWP and letting me take all the credit.
