Home Movie Day

Bring your film (8mm, Super 8, or 16mm) or tapes (VHS-C) and learn about media preservation and digitization during Home Movie Day at Belle Terre Library (5550 Belle Terre Road in Marrero).

Home Movie Day events provide the opportunity for individuals and families to have their vintage films inspected and to view and share their personal home movies with the community. The event is an opportunity to discover the personal, historical, and social importance of home movies and for patrons to learn how to best care for them.

Patrons will be able to digitize their 8mm or Super 8 film, as well as project their 16mm film for live viewing. VHS-C capture devices will also be available. Please note that digitization and viewing limits may be imposed depending on attendance, content, or other factors.

Don't let your films decay! Take them to Home Movie Day!
