A leisurely 12-mile ramble around the Marlborough Downs

This walk has been regraded to 'leisurely' as we will be joined by Toby, who is visually impaired. I've walked with him twice recently, and will be guiding him on the walk. I'm hoping that others will offer their assistance. As well as developing new skills, it helps Ramblers open the way for everyone to enjoy the simple pleasures of walking, by working to remove barriers so everyone can enjoy walking in green spaces.

Today’s walk starts from a secluded car park close to Manton House (SU159699 on OS Explorer 157, postcode SN8 1PL) at 9.45am. The ramble is a fairly level circuit of the Marlborough Downs, via Barbury Castle, offering fine views for much of the day. Lifts are suggested at £4.00. Please bring your lunch.
