Mini-Class Overview
This focused safety and preparedness mini-class is designed specifically for Houses of Worship. Participants will learn how to better protect their congregations by recognizing early indicators of violent behavior, developing an effective Emergency Operations Plan, and understanding the basics of treating traumatic injuries should an incident occur.
The course includes considerations unique to Houses of Worship, guidance on assessing current security measures, and hands-on exercises that reinforce the skills being taught.
Topics Covered:
How to identify behaviors and indicators of someone who may be planning a mass shooting
Steps to create or strengthen an Emergency Operations Plan
Special safety, legal, and operational considerations for Houses of Worship
How to evaluate your current security posture, locate potential safe areas, understand improvised defensive options, and administer aid to the wounded until help arrives
