Mirror, mirror…

Last week the babies enjoyed exploring a variety of fruit and vegetables in their messy play, helping introduce your babies to age and developmentally appropriate textures and tastes, and giving ideas for different weaning foods, as well as providing ideal mark-making opportunities for the smallest hands!
This week we're getting all the mirrors out - babies are attracted to faces, and we know that babies enjoy gazing at themselves, and you, in a mirror.
During tummy time, a mirror can motivate your baby to lift their head, keep it up, and look around. On their backs you can move the mirror slowly from side to side to encourage them to track with their eyes, and to move their headsfrom one side to the other - a simple activity for a baby that has a preference for turning their head to just one side.
