AS Helper Certification/Recertification
American Schutzhund’s Director of Helpers, Joeri Veth and National Director, Theresa Currier, have authorized an AS Helper Certification/Recertification. Empire Working Dog Club will host this AS sanctioned event.

CERTIFICATION DESCRIPTION:
Tim Vaillancourt has been authorized by the AS Director of Helpers, Joeri Veth to conduct helper certifications/recertifications and will be presenting this certification. Via lecture, demonstrations and hands on practical exercises, helpers who certify will be able to correctly identify and implement the manor in which American Schutzhund expects trial dogs to be worked.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION/REQUIREMENTS
Certification:
This is a certification course. You must successfully pass this program in order to attain an American Schutzhund Helper Certification. No one will be certified for just attending.
All helpers must bring a dog or have someone bring a dog to be worked. If a helper is flying and it is not possible to bring a dog, Empire WDC will have a few dogs on hand to assist. Empire WDC will also have a few extra sleeves on hand and will be suppling all the necessary equipment. However, all certifying helpers will need to bring their own helper gear.

New AS Helpers Who Have Never Been Through An AS Helper Certification, Must Attend All Three Days (7/25/25 - 7/27/25)
All Certified AS Helpers Who Need To ReCertify, Only Need To Attend On The Third Day When The Certification/ReCertifications Will Take Place (7/27/25)
PSA Membership Requirement:
For those wishing to attain their AS Helper Certification/Recertification, you must have an active PSA membership.
Due to insurance requirements, anyone working a dog for a certifying helper who does not have an active PSA membership and does not want to purchase a full membership, must apply for a weekend PSA membership pass and sign the Weekend Handling Agreement for AS Helper Certifications. This weekend pass will cost $25.00 and is only good for the event weekend, and will expire at the end of the event. Those who wish to audit, do not need to be an active PSA member nor do they need a weekend membership pass. However, auditors need to fill out the registration form so an accurate headcount can be established.

Helpers: 3 Days
$100.00 with lunch and drinks provided all 3 days.
Helpers: 1 Day
$50.00 with lunch and drinks provided.
People bringing dogs to certify:
Free with the option to purchase lunch.

Payment/Registration:
All certifying helpers must pay and register in advance. There are a total of ten spots for helpers wishing to participate. There will be no collection of fees on the workshop weekend. All fees are non refundable
