The Private Firefly Eco-Tour is 3- hour exclusive firefly experience. An experienced firefly guide will take your small group (2-10 adults/teens) on a guided walk to see multiple species of fireflies, (possibly Chinese Lanterns, Synchronous Fireflies and others). Tickets are $175 per adult/teen. Children 5-11 are free.*
Beginning at 8:00 pm, we host a campfire (weather permitting) with your choice of refreshments: cheese board, or a dessert tray with beverages, coffee/tea. We will introduce you to some of the basic facts and information about fireflies, and give you a chance to get oriented to the property and ask questions. We provide walking sticks and flashlights or you're welcome to bring your own. Once it gets dark enough for the walks, your guide will lead you along the Tionesta Creek and into the private forest habitats. Then, you will have the rest of the evening to observe and experience the fireflies in the privacy of the forest setting without the intrusion of crowds. Weather permitting, you may also enjoy stargazing or a moonrise around the campfire. A free PA Firefly Festival souvenir t-shirt for each patron is included, and if you want any other shirts or firefly-themed souvenirs they will be available for extra charge. 10% of the proceeds benefits the PA Firefly Festival organization.
Limited dates available. First-come basis. The tours are subject to change due to weather and firefly seasonal activity. Rain-dates or vouchers will be offered.
This activity is not recommended for those with mobility issues. Tourists need to be in good physical condition, able to walk in uneven terrain for up to 1 mile in the dark and get in and out of camp chairs without assistance. We will direct anyone with mobility issues to a place where they may view fireflies from their car, but we will not conduct a tour.
