Shim Sham Shimmy Routine

The Shim Sham Shimmy routine started as a late 1920’s tap routine often danced at the end of musical shows. At the Savoy Ballroom in Harlem some lindyhoppers did the shim sham as a group line dance without the taps and well known swing dancer and choreographer Frankie Manning introduced the version of the shim sham most commonly danced at swing dances today.
