ARI Whitsundays and Whitsundays Arts Festival present a Community Artist Forum and Arts Workshop with Artist-in-Residence Peter Syndicas. This event offers local artists and art enthusiasts an opportunity to participate in a dynamic discussion and hands-on sand-casting workshop. Topics will include the intersection of art and environment, the creative process, and strategies for engaging with public art projects.
Renowned for his bronze and stone forms, his abstract figurative sculptures are inspired by the intricate patterns of plant life. Peter’s work is represented by galleries across Australia and held in private collections worldwide, including in Dubai, Singapore, and the United States.
Bring your own twig, coral, or washed-up flotsam (palm-sized) to use in the sand-casting process with plaster. All other materials will be provided, along with morning tea.
This is an opportunity to learn new techniques and create nature-inspired art under the guidance of an award-winning artist.
