About the event

RESONANCE with Ruby Savage
An embodied listening within the Collective Altar residency a grounding session exploring vibration, attunement and deep-time connection.

About this Event

Part of Movements fron the Margins : Collective Altar

People Dem Collective x Diasporas Now

In RESONANCE, Ruby Savage leads a deep listening journey exploring how vibration moves through the body, how sound recalibrates the nervous system, and how collective attunement can root us in presence.

Part sound ritual, part meditative grounding, part communal recalibration, this session invites participants to arrive softly, tune inward, and open themselves to the subtle frequencies that guide transformation.

This activation sits at the heart of the residency’s sonic thread, preparing the ground for the closing performances later in the week.

About the Artist: Ruby Savage

Ruby Savage is a DJ, sound practitioner and creative force known for her expansive approach to listening as a tool for connection, healing and liberation. Her work spans dancefloors, meditative environments and community-rooted gatherings, always inviting people into deeper relationship with themselves and one another through vibration and frequency.

Ruby’s practice honours diasporic sound traditions, the sacredness of collective rhythm, and the ways music holds memory across time

Part of the Collective Altar Residency

RESONANCE is one activation within Movements from the Margins: Collective Altar, running 2–9 January at Quench Gallery — a collaborative programming series curated by Black-led community organisation People Dem Collective and live art platform Diasporas Now.

Movements from the Margins was first piloted at Turner Contemporary in 2024, with a festival debut at We Out Here in 2025, and now returns as a week-long residency exploring ritual, sound, movement and collective transformation at the start of the new year.
