Hello, and welcome to Flynn's Hobby Shop's Scarlet and Violet: Destined Rivals Midnight prerelease! This tournament allows players to get an early preview of the upcoming new set, Scarlet and Violet: Destined Rivals, and to play in a casual tournament to learn about the new cards. Everyone gets the same prize, regardless of how they place! This event is ideal for players who are collectors and for those who play the Pokémon TCG and want to get familiar with the new cards.
Our prerelease tournament is limited to 40 players. There will be no casual play during prerelease tournaments; all play space available is dedicated to the prerelease. If you are only spectating, you do not need to fill out this form.
We are also doing a pajama party; please feel free to come in your PJs! Flynn's thing is creating nostalgic experiences, and we want to be a part of that as best as we can! We will also be bringing snacks and treats for you to enjoy as part of your prerelease experience, included complementary with your entry fee!
Registration starts at 11PM, then the event will officially start on or around midnight. Deck building will start promptly thereafter.
**Rules and Other Important Information**
Staff cannot and will not hold spots for you in the prerelease tournament.
Friends cannot hold registration spots for you in the prerelease tournament.
Additional build and battle kits will NOT be available for purchase on prerelease night.
Scooping to get packs is not permitted and will result in the forfeiture of your additional packs.
We are following a preregistration list at the door. If you are not on it, you will be moved to the back of the line. If any spots remain after (1) it is 11:30 and (2) the preregistration list has been exhausted, we will give spots on a first-come, first-serve basis.
What should you expect at a Prerelease?
1. An entry fee of $30. With this entry fee, each player will receive (1) prerelease kit. Each prerelease kit will consist of a 40-card ready-to-play deck, 1 of 4 special stamped promo cards, and 4 booster packs from Scarlet and Violet: Destined Rivals!
2. After hearing the Tournament Organizer's instructions, each player will have 30 minutes to open their kit and create a 40-card deck that will be used in the tournament. The players CANNOT use any cards outside of the prerelease kit, with the exception of basic energy. Basic energy will be provided by the tournament organizer for your use. These energy cards will be yours to keep and are not required to be returned at the end of the event.
3. A 3-round tournament, with each round lasting 20 minutes plus 3 turns. At the end of the tournament, each player will receive 3 Scarlet and Violet: Destined Rivals booster packs!
What should I bring?
1. (REQUIRED) A set of at least 6 dice. At this time, we do not carry dice sets at Flynn's Hobby Shop, so please ensure you have your own set before you come.
2. (REQUIRED) A flipping coin. If you are using a die for flipping, make sure that it is 6 sided, translucent, and slightly larger than the damage counter dice.
3. (REQUIRED) Status Markers for Burn and Poison.
4. (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED) Sleeves. These are not required for the tournament, but my staff and I highly recommend that you use them to protect your new cards! The shop also has sleeves available for purchase, should you need them.
