On August 31st, while some groups take to the streets to spread fear and division, we will gather here in Wooditchup to stand for something better.
We will come together in love, not hate, to show that our communities are stronger when we are inclusive, kind, and united.
We gather to show everyone who has made this place home that they are welcome, respected, and safe.
We gather to remember that most of us are here because of migration, and that we live on stolen lands. Sovereignty was never ceded.
We gather to show that messages of exclusion and hate have no place in our communities, and that we will always stand up for our shared humanity.
Picnic Without Borders is a peaceful and family friendly gathering where we reject racism, xenophobia, and division, and instead celebrate connection, culture, and community.
Like monarch butterflies crossing continents in search of life, human migration is not a threat; it is a right. It is part of who we are as people. For many, it is a story of survival, strength, and hope. Migration deserves to be honoured and protected.
Bring a dish that celebrates your story or one from your family’s ancestral roots. Bring your loved ones, your music, crafts, games, your flags, signs, and stories.
Come share a meal, meet your neighbours, and help create a space that reflects the best of who we are: diverse, welcoming, and united <3
