Join us for a very special sundowner for a journey into the remote indigenous communities of the West Daly Region through the lens and storytelling of local artists local artists Tanya Cole, Jodie Thompson, Freedom Garvey and Kellie from Dillybag Collective.
The Colour Story is a grassroots wellness program run by Kellie Gherardi from Dillybag Collective (and Mr Barval Wines). Delivered through art, this successfully program, now in its 5th year works with the women and children of the remote closed communities of Nganambala, Merrepen, Nemarluk and Wudicuplyderr. The Program supports the traditional weaving and bush dye collection and uses different art modalities to capture their 'Colour Story' which is told through weaving, screen printing, photography, bush dyed textiles and painting.
A unique evening where you will be the first to see the new weavings, silks and hear the backstory of artworks and a sneak peak of the photography that will be soon available via a slide show of images taken by both Freedom and the women and kids of community.
