Get keeeeeeeeeen for spotlighting!! Surely you've all been hanging out to see some cool wildlife. This time we'll be heading out to a drier spot, to the wonderful Davies Creek.
Whether you're a regular spotlighter, or you've never been before, come along and check it out!
For those of you who have joined us at previously it'll be a pretty similar event to our past spotlighting escapes. Those who are new to all of this, we'll essentially be walking around the forest for a bit to see what we can find. Please make sure you bring a torch that's fully charged, closed-toed shoes, some water, and some bug spray if you want!
We'll be meeting at the Davies Creek Falls Carpark at 7.30pm, and from there we'll wander around the forest to see what we can find. (Although there's limited parking there, so if we get lots of interest I might get us all to meet a bit lower down and then we can carpool up - stay tuned!). Davies Creek is a great place for biodiversity, and being a bit of a drier area hopefully means that we'll get to see some things we don't usually see. It's not only a great spot for bandicoots, Bumpy Rocket Frogs, and all sorts of weird and wonderful bugs, but it's also one of the few local places where you can see Common Ringtail Possums and Velvet Geckos. If we get really lucky we might even see a platypus or quoll!
Please make sure to let me know if you're planning to come, because we'll organise a good carpool to save on fuel and embrace our environmentally-friendly inner selves.
