Hello hello everyone, are you excited for more birding? Fingers crossed it doesn't rain on us! This time we will be heading out to the Botanic Gardens to see what we can find. The target species for this week is the Little Kingfisher! Seeing how cute they are, surely you can't help but want to come along 😃
We'll be meeting in front of the Chinese garden at Centenary Lakes (on Greenslopes Street). Please make sure you bring a hat, water, and sunscreen because it's likely to be a bright and sunny morning, and some bug spray is also highly recommended. If you've got binoculars, please bring them along!
As always if you're feeling unwell please don't come, and while we are watching birds we will be maintaining 1.5m distancing. And yes, we are finally affiliated and everything so all JCU students and staff are covered by JCUSA insurance (finally!)
Anyway, please do come along if you can! Whether you're a birding extraordinaire or you've never tried something like this before, it will be a great opportunity to get out and meet some like-minded people, and of course a great opportunity to see some of North Queensland's amazing birds/government drones. I hope to see you all there 😃
