May 6 - 11: MUSIC CAMP
Django a Gogo™ Music Camp is a first-class music program providing musicians of all levels and instruments access to the greatest knowledge and teachers available. The program focuses mainly on the musical style of Django Reinhardt (referred to as "Gypsy Jazz" in the USA). The goal of this camp is for students to learn from all the teachers and performers of the festival in an intimate small group setting, or workshops.

Stephane Wrembel and Josh Kaye on guitar, Adrien Chevalier on violin, Steven Duffy on tuba, David Langlois on percussion/washboard, Nick Driscoll on tenor sax/clarinet, Joe Boga on trumpet, Scott Kettner on drums, and Sarah King on vocals. The group celebrates the iconic guitarist and composer Django Reinhardt by blending the traditional sounds of New Orleans brass and percussion with the enchanting “Jazz Manouche” guitar style. From swing to second lines, this ensemble offers a truly magical night of music. Advance CDs of the new recording, Django New Orleans II: Hors Série, will be available ONLY at the two Django New Orleans shows presented during Django a Gogo….this one and May 9 at Symphony Space! The official release date is TBA.

The Night of Gypsies with Simba Baumgartner, Antoine Boyer & special guest, Sam Farthing
This special night will be led by French guitarists Simba Baumgartner (Django Reinhardt’s great grandson) and Antoine Boyer along with Stephane Wrembel and David Gastine on guitar, Frank Anastasio on bass and Nick Anderson on drums.
They will be joined by the Baltimore-based guitarist, Sam Farthing, a rising star in the world of gypsy jazz, celebrating the release of his debut CD, Swing 25. The recording, which features Farthing on all the instrumentation, is a mix of original compositions and select covers.
