All back numbers will be available to collect from the Secretary’s Office on the day of the Show. Members please collect your yellow back number form the office, this is yours to keep for the rest of the season.
Vaccinations
Would all Exhibitors ensure that they have their horse’s vaccination record with them. There will be random spot checks. Horses whose vaccinations are not within the last 12 months will be refused entry to the site.

Members must compete in 3 Shows minimum in the same class with the same combination to accrue points for end of year trophy presented at the Presentation Evening to be held at Portland Training College on the 15th November. 1 point extra for every entry.
By entering any class, you have given permission for photos and videos taken of you or your child to be published on our social media and web site.
Any complaints must be handed to the Club in writing on the day of the event with a deposit of £20 which will be forfeited if the complaint is overruled following discussion at the next planned Committee Meeting.

1. Lead Rein ~ Open to mares and geldings four years old and over, not to exceed 128cms. Riders must have attained their 3rd birthday but must not have attained their 9th birthday by 1st January in the current year.
2. First Ridden ~ Open to mares and geldings four years old and over, not to exceed 128cms. Riders must have attained their 3rd birthday, but must not have attained their 12th birthday by 1st January in the current year.
3. Tiny Tots Lead Rein ~ Open to mares and geldings four years old and over, not to exceed 122cms. Riders must have attained their 3rd birthday but must not have attained their 5th birthday by 1st January in the current year.
4. Tiny Tots First Ridden ~ Open to mares and geldings four years old and over not to exceed 122cms. Riders must have attained their 3rd birthday but must not have attained their 8th birthday by 1st January in the current year.
Tiny Tots Championship 1st and 2nd prize winners from Classes 1 to 4 will be eligible to compete.

5. Novice Pony & Horse ~ Walk and trot only. Ideal for their first season under saddle. Snaffle bridle only.

6b Ridden M&M Large Breeds ~ Open to registered pure bred M&M stallions, mares and geldings 5yrs old and over. New Forest, Connemara, Fells, Dales, Highlands, Welsh Section C & D.
7a. Ridden Heavy Horse – Open to horses 4yrs and over that are registered in the main British Stud Books of the Shire, Suffolk, Clydesdale and Percheron. Tail plait and wool and flights optional, but for Health & Safety reasons, no standing wired flights.
7b. Ridden Foreign Breeds – Open to Foreign Breeds that are non-indigenous to the British Isles (England, Scotland, Wales, Outer Hebrides, Isle of Man, Outer Isles, Northern Ireland & Eire)
8. Open Pony ~ Open to ponies not exceeding 148cms.
9. Open Horse ~ Open to horses exceeding 148cms.
10. Ridden Coloured ~ Open to Piebald, Skewbald, Spotted, Appaloosa, Palomino, Roan, Dun, and Cremello.

Rules
1. The Judge’s decision is final and please remember that judges are guests of the club and should be treated as such. Any complaints regarding the judge’s decision will not be accepted.
2. All ages for both horse & rider are taken from the 1st of January in the current year. All riders/handlers must have attained their 3rd birthday on the date of the show. All ridden horse/ponies must be at least 4yrs old to compete in any ridden class.
3. The centre reserves the right to alter, amalgamate or cancel classes if sufficient/insufficient entries.
4. Hard Hats to current BSI standards with a chin strap to be worn in all ridden classes and in-hand classes by handlers 16 years and under.
5. No refund of entries will be allowed under any circumstances.
6. The organisers accept no responsibility or liability for any loss, incident or accident(s) to persons, equines or property.
7. All Exhibitors must hold a minimum of third-party liability insurance.
8. No mucking out of horseboxes on the showground.
9. The Centre reserves the right to ask anyone demonstrating cruelty or antisocial behaviour to leave the showground and will be banned from any future events.
10. If you are not present when your class is due to start, then you will not be allowed into the ring once the class has started. It is the Exhibitor’s responsibility to ensure that they do not miss their class. There will be no refunds if any class is missed.
11. Novice classes – Please enter this class in the spirit that it is intended. All ages welcome.
12. No spurs are allowed to be worn by any Exhibitor under the age of 16yrs in any class. Any Exhibitor over the age of 16yrs may wear spurs if riding a horse exceeding 148cms and if the class allows it. No spurs are allowed in the Nervous and Novice or Beginners classes.
13. No form of bullying, harassment or nasty comments, whether in person or on social media will not be tolerated and any person found to be doing so will be banned from all events and removed from the showground immediately.
14. Foals must be at least 30 days old on the show day.
15. No horse/pony to be left tied to a trailer/lorry unattended.
16. All stallions and colts 2 years+ must be bitted. Minimum age of handlers for stallions or colts, or riders of stallions is 16yrs.
17. Lead rein handlers must be at least 14 years of age, unless a young handler class which will stipulate age required.
18. Take all rubbish & waste home.
19. When attending the show, please respect our property. No wandering around the premises.
20. Whips: Maximum length of 75cm (30”) in all classes.
21. Lead rein ponies to be shown in snaffle bridle and lead rein to be attached to the noseband.
22. Lead rein Exhibitors to be 12 years and under (age at 1st January 2025).
23. First Ridden Exhibitors to be 16 years and under (age at 1st January 2025)
24. All mounted/in hand horses and ponies must be shown in appropriate tack.
25. All Exhibitors to wear correct and appropriate show attire for the classes they wish to enter.
26. All earrings and body studs to be removed before entering any ring as an Exhibitor.
27. Regardless of age, the rider must be a suitable height/weight for the horse/pony, including lead rein. If the judge deems a horse and rider combination inappropriate; they will be dismissed from the class. No refunds will be made. The judge’s decision is final.
28. Parking is available on the showground at your own risk. Blidworth Equestrian Show Centre accept no responsibility for damage to vehicles or its contents.
29. We reserve the right to omit classes from future shows if insufficient entries.
30. If these rules cannot be adhered to then Exhibitors will be asked to leave the showground with no refund of entries.
31. No horse/pony may be ridden more than once in a class.
32. Class placings – Under 6 entries we will place 1st – 3rd, 6 or over entries we will place 1st to 6th. We will ONLY split horse and pony entries if there are over 15 entries in the class.
33. Dress/Tack Code to apply: a) A body protector can be worn if necessary. b) Hard hats to current BSA standards with chin strap must be worn. NO schooling whips allowed in the arena, Spurs are NOT allowed in the beginners or nervous and novice showjumping.
34. Entry Rules to apply: a) Entry fees are due at the time of booking. b) Entry fees are non-refundable. c) All times are approximate and subject to alteration.
35. Any perpetual trophies that have been presented at our annual presentation evenings will be required to be returned and each individual that wins one of these will be expected to return them in person to Blidworth Equestrian Show Centre on the said date. Any trophies that are not returned, individuals will be charged accordingly.
36. Should any Exhibitor within a showing class that has already qualified at an affiliated event, the qualification will be passed down the line to a maximum of 6th place.
37. If bringing dogs, please keep them on a leash and mess cleared away. Dogs must be comfortable around livestock.
38. Lead Rein classes: handlers to be aged 14 years and over. Lead rein must be attached to the noseband.
