Lyrically narrative and melodically engaging, '46 Brigade' are an indie pop/rock outfit from Perth, Western Australia.
Structured predominantly around the songs of singer/songwriter Craig Ballantyne, 46 Brigade are a triple threat with the songs, passion and energy to appeal to a large demographic of music fans.
They have released two full length albums to date, 'Reverse the Future' (2013) and 'into the great unknown' (2020), both of which have received glowing reviews from their peers.
'into the great unknown', is an album featuring many world class songs about love, loss and hope, and was mixed and mastered by Grammy award winning Swedish mix engineer, Thomas Juth. This album will fire a spark in listeners, with the messages and strong melodies it delivers. Online music magazine, Around the Sound, nominated ‘into the great unknown’ as one of the top 5 WA album releases of 2020.
In November 2022, 46 Brigade released a new EP ‘Against the Tide’ (artwork below) featuring six tracks. We feel the following post from one of our online fans sums up this EP perfectly. ‘It’ll take you from soulful contemplation, to wanting to dance to the catchy upbeat choruses and sing out load with the windows down!’
At the 2022 WAM-West Australian Music Awards, 46 Brigade was nominated in the People’s Choice Category. As part of the WA Music Month, 46 Brigade was also asked to perform at WAMFest 2022, a festival featuring the cream of the WA contemporary music scene.
The band has been invited on to some other high-profile bills including support spots for 1927, The Superjesus and headlining the legendary Gidgestock Festival. 46 Brigade were also asked to perform their song 'Soldier' at the annual Anzac Day AFL commemorative match in front of a crowd of around 40,000 people at Patersons Stadium in Perth, WA.
