Industrial Sewing Machine for Beginners - $50

Who is this Class For?

This class is for anyone who has experience using a standard sewing machine and are interested in learning how to operate a more heavy-duty machine for sewing multiple fabric layers, thick and tougher materials such as leather, denim, canvas or upholstery fabrics.

Learning Objective

To be able to wind bobbin, correctly insert bobbin and case
Thread machine correctly with proper tensions
Adjust for appropriate thread, stitch length, needles, and other attachments
Back stitch to secure stitching and tie-off
How to oil machine, engage and stop machine
Importance of hand-placement.
You will practice using machine by constructing a phone-charging bag.

Learning Outcome

You will be able to apply skills from this class to work independently in the Textile Lab using this machine.
