Join us for our annual public event at the SS City of Milwaukee museum ship in Manistee, MI! The 2nd annual "Anchors and Axles" car show kicks off at 9am with a $10 entry fee. All registration will be done in person, at the show's beginning. Participate in public voting and see who wins award plaques in the following categories: Best of Show, Most Original, Best Custom Build, Best Muscle Car, and Best Pre-1950. Dash plaques will be given to the first 50 entries.
Enjoy a day filled with activities and entertainment for the whole family. Savor delicious food from the TC Taco food truck. Explore the unique items at our Silent Auction, and don't miss the informative Car Ferry presentations that will provide a glimpse into the history and significance of these fascinating vessels. The onboard Gift Shop offers a range of souvenirs and nautical memorabilia, perfect for taking a piece of the experience home with you.
In addition to the car show, you can take the opportunity to explore the ship itself, with 1/2 price tours through the beautifully preserved interiors, learn about her rich history, and imagine life on the Great Lakes. It promises to be packed with fun, history, and community spirit. All funds raised will benefit the preservation of the SS City of Milwaukee and USCGC Acacia.
