Training Goal:
The Foundations of Simulation-Based Education aims to build the foundational knowledge, skills, and confidence of BS Nursing faculty in using simulation as a teaching and learning strategy. Through a combination of lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on workshops, the training seeks to strengthen faculty capability in designing, facilitating, and evaluating simulation experiences that enhance student learning and clinical competence.
Objectives:
By the end of the 3-day Foundations of Simulation-Based Education, participants will be able to:
1. Explain the key principles and theoretical foundations of simulation-based education in nursing.
2. Demonstrate fundamental skills in planning, facilitating, and debriefing simulation activities.
3. Design and implement learner-centered simulation scenarios aligned with course outcomes and competency standards.
4. Apply basic tools and strategies for assessing learning in simulation.
5. Develop initial plans for integrating simulation into their respective BS Nursing courses and programs.
