Join the Jewish Outdoors Club as we walk the High Line, finishing at Little Island, Manhattan's (relatively new) engineering wonder!
This is a very leisurely walk, around two miles in total before ending at Little Island (much shorter than most JOC hikes), and is recommended for people of all fitness levels. Come!
SCHEDULE:
We’ll meet at 5:45PM at the Vessel at Hudson Yards, which can be accessed from either West 30th or West 33rd Streets, between 10th and 11th Avenues. (7 Train to the last stop of 34th Street- Hudson Yards.) Climbing the Vessel is possible, but if you are doing so, make sure to arrive early enough so that you can finish your round-trip climb before 5:45PM.
At 6PM sharp, we will start walking to the nearby High Line entrance (latecomers can meet us further south on the High Line.) We expect to finish walking the High Line (at a very leisurely pace), just after 7PM. We'll then head over to Little Island (free, tickets not required) and will stay there for as long as people want to stick around. There are some cool things to do on the island, with wonderful views of the Hudson River.
Organizers:
Keith Sanders, Jennie Sanders
PACKING LIST:
One bottle of water (at least 12 ounces), good walking shoes, a sandwich or other light snacks (there will be a ten-minute break on the High Line, and lots of time at Little Island to relax), camera, MetroCard
Optional: If possible, please click “attending” if you can join, so we have a good idea of how many people are coming and can plan accordingly.
