Gims, formerly known as Maître Gims, is a French-Congolese singer, rapper, producer, and songwriter. Born Gandhi Alimasi Djuna on May 6, 1986, in Kinshasa, Zaire (now Democratic Republic of Congo), he moved to France at age two. He initially gained fame as a member of the hip hop group Sexion d'Assaut. In 2013, he launched his successful solo career
Gims is known for blending genres, including rap, pop, and R&B, with catchy hooks and well-crafted productions. He also incorporates African and Latin influences into his music He has collaborated with various international artists, including Sia, Pitbull, Lil Wayne, Stromae, Maluma, and Sting.
