Rumba Guaguancó is coming our way thanks to Takechi Ruiz--you won't want to miss this DOPE workshop!
👱♀️ WHO: Class will be taught by Takechi Ruiz, originally from Santiago de Cuba and now living in Olympia, WA. Takechi is a fireball on the dance floor and shares his deep knowledge and honed technique with his students to help them gain a deeper understanding of Cuban dance.
💃🏼 WHAT: Rumba guaguancó is a dance with centuries of history, based on the flirtation between the two dancers. In this hour, Takechi will go over the rhythms to recognize guaguancó, the basic movements, and lots of variations to add sabor to your dance. Please feel free to bring skirts and/or handkerchiefs to use in the dance if you want.
