On June 25 at Sony Hall, as part of the Blue Note Music Festival, Oleg Skrypka and Eugene Hütz reunite for the first time in over 25 years in a powerful celebration of Ukrainian music, resistance, and punk spirit.
Vopli Vidopliassova (VV), trailblazers of Ukraine’s rock scene, and Eugene Hütz, frontman of Gogol Bordello, share a story that changed Eastern European music. In the 1990s, Gogol Bordello opened for VV in their first major NYC concert — a full-circle moment that now becomes this historic co-headline performance.
In the 2023 documentary Scream of My Blood: A Gogol Bordello Story, Eugene calls Oleg and VV his musical teachers, crediting their sound, worldview, and courage as the foundation of Gogol Bordello’s rise. Now, on the 40th anniversary of VV, they share the stage once again.
This very special evening features a full headline set by VV, a dynamic performance from the Eugene Hütz Trio, and a collaborative finale — all amplified by the powerhouse horn section of Hazmat Modine, blending blues, brass, and Balkan brilliance.
Presented by the Blue Note Music Festival, this isn’t just a concert — it’s a rallying cry for freedom, culture, and Ukrainian power.
A charity auction during the evening will raise funds for Misto Dobra (The City of Goodness) — a Ukrainian nonprofit that offers shelter, medical, psychological, and legal care to mothers and children displaced or traumatized by war and domestic violence.

25 червня в Sony Hall, у рамках фестивалю Blue Note Music Festival, Олег Скрипка та Євген Гудзь уперше за понад 25 років вийдуть разом на сцену — у святкуванні української культури, спротиву та панк-енергії.
Vopli Vidopliassova (VV) — піонери українського року, та Євген Гудзь, лідер Gogol Bordello, мають спільну історію, що змінила східноєвропейську музику. У 1990-х Gogol Bordello вперше виступили в Нью-Йорку як розігрів VV — момент, що тепер отримає нове продовження на одній сцені.
У документальному фільмі Scream of My Blood (2023), Євген Гудзь називає VV та Олега Скрипку своїми музичними вчителями, чиє звучання, філософія і відвага стали фундаментом для створення Gogol Bordello.
У вечері візьмуть участь: повний виступ VV, сет від Євген Гудзь Trio, фінальна колаборація, а також духова секція Hazmat Modine, яка додасть блюзу, джазу і балканської вибуховості.
Захід організовано в рамках Blue Note Music Festival — це не просто концерт, це маніфест свободи, культури й українського спротиву.
Під час концерту відбудеться благодійний аукціон на підтримку “Міста Добра” — української організації, яка надає притулок, медичну, психологічну та юридичну допомогу жінкам і дітям, які постраждали від війни чи домашнього насильства.
