Tallgrass Tour: Experience the Northern Flint Hills

Join us for a scenic day trip to the northernmost part of the Flint Hills. We will stop at the famous Oregon Trail site Alcove Spring for a short, guided trail walk and exploration of the natural spring and rock formations.

Our lunch break will be long enough to enjoy a relaxed meal and optional time to walk the shopping district to see the unique businesses nearby.

After lunch we will visit the Pony Express Barn and Museum. We will get a look at a replica of a rope ferry which represents how travelers crossed the Blue River on their journey westward.

Ages 8+

Cost is $40 for FHDC members and $45 for non-members and is scholarship eligible.
