Join us for October's session of Understand & Empower: Monthly Cancer Education titled, "Body & Mind: Two Ways to Care for Yourself."
Trying to take care of yourself isn’t easy—and more than one thing can be true. Let’s talk about what real self-care looks like.
Join us for a candid conversation about self-care—what it is, what it isn’t, and how to care for both your physical and emotional health during or after cancer. Speakers for the September event include Aaron Akin and Jayme Morris-Hardeman.
Aaron Akin, Fitness Director at Maximum Performance, has a background in kinesiology, coaching, and personal training. Aaron brings a practical, movement-focused approach to caring for the body and regaining strength.
Jayme Morris-Hardeman, Executive Director of Thrive!, holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Kansas State University. A long-time Manhattan advocate, Jayme brings deep experience in trauma-informed practice, community-building, and emotional wellness—helping us explore how to care for the mind alongside the body.
This event is free and open to all adults. Registration is encouraged. Please call (785) 323-3878.
