Michael J. Marx Metal Clay — Turtle with Stone
Renowned metal clay artist and instructor Michael J. Marx is coming back to TBMSC for two classes in January 2026 to share with us some of his signature styles in metal clay.
January 9, 2026, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
“Turtles With Stone” — a three-dimensional turtle using about 15 grams of silver clay with minimal tools, props and textures, with a cold-set stone. This class is suitable for new and intermediate clay artists.
The cost includes a supply kit and 15 grams of silver metal clay. You may either bring the a 20mm to 25mm circular stone or purchase one at the class. Glass pieces will also be available.
Morning snacks and lunch will be provided.
Cost: $345 total.

• $211 Instructor fee and materials (kit and clay) due the day of class.
You must be a member to take this class. Non-members may purchase a weekend pass for $30.
CLASS CANCELLATION POLICY
In order to be eligible for a refund, class participants must notify the Tampa Mineral and Science Club that they will not be attending the class no less than 30 days prior to the first day of the class. A refund may be possible in case of an emergency. A 10% cancellation processing fee will be charged for all refunds. The Club will not provide refunds or credits for a no-call or no-show. If the Club cancels a class, participants will receive a full refund.
