- **Event Description**: Metal Clay artist and instructor Michael Marx is coming back to TBMSC for a two-day class in January 2026 to share with us some of his signature styles in metal clay.

January 10-11, 2026

 “Awesome Owls” — a three-dimensional owl using 30-plus grams of silver clay with layered textures, coil work and multiple embellishments. This class is geared toward intermediate to advanced skill levels and require a full tool kit, textures and some props. Tools are available to borrow from the club. 

The cost includes a supply kit and 30 grams of silver metal clay. Additional clay will be available for purchase at the class. 

Morning snacks and lunch will be provided for each day. 

Cost: $550 total.
• $250 deposit to reserve a seat on Signup Genius. 
• $300 Instructor fee and materials (kit and clay) due the day of class.

Minimum of seven students required for each class. Up to 15 maximum.

CLASS CANCELLATION POLICY
In order to be eligible for a refund, class participants must notify the Tampa Mineral and Science Club that they will not be attending the class no less than 30 days prior to the first day of the class. A refund may be possible in case of an emergency. A 10% cancellation processing fee will be charged for all refunds. The Club will not provide refunds or credits for a no-call or no-show. If the Club cancels a class, participants will receive a full refund.
