The first Astro Meetup of 2026 is going to be one to remember!
Join us on 3 March at Island Point for a special evening under the stars as we gather to photograph and witness the Total Lunar Eclipse. This relaxed, family friendly meet up is designed for astro enthusiasts of all levels who would love to connect, share knowledge and capture this incredible celestial event together.
As the Earth’s shadow slowly moves across the Moon and totality transforms it into a deep copper glow, we will have time to experiment with different compositions, settings and foregrounds in a supportive and social environment.
Bring your camera, tripod, warm layers and the kids if you like.
Whether you are chasing your first eclipse image or refining your technique, this is a beautiful opportunity to experience the night sky as a community.

I will arrive around Sunset, or maybe a little earlier and set up to capture a timelapse.
