Summer Silent Retreat
Seasonal shifts are liminal opportunities to check in with our internal and external worlds. The environmental transition from Spring to Summer is one of the slow, earthy processes of sprouted seeds growing into colorful, vibrant blooms. The personal Spring to Summer transition is one of gentle, quiet beginnings of ideas, projects, and goals moving into their full, fiery actualization. Unless we take the time to get quiet with ourselves, these transitions can sweep us in a direction we may not want to go.
Yoga provides many practices to go deeply inward to align ourselves with the seasonal shifts. In this workshop we will practice asana (postures), pranayama (breath work), pratyahara (a vow of silence), yoga nidra (guided sleep), and dharana (focused concentration). There will be an Ayurvedic dinner offered in the middle of the workshop. Participants are encouraged to bring journals, socks, and a water bottle. Prior experience with yoga is suggested but not required.
Retreat Schedule:
3:30-4pm: Welcome, intention setting, and beginning of vow of silence
4-5pm: Asana (postures) and Pranayama (breath work) practice
5-530pm: Ayurvedic Dinner
530-6pm: Journaling and Tea
6-7pm: Yoga Nidra (guided sleep)
7pm: Closing of vow of silence
7-7:30pm: Optional group or individual discussion with Maureen & Monica
$50 go to enrollments
