Dare to bring a classic to life? Step into the shadowy world of Victor Frankenstein and his chilling creation in this gothic drama based on Mary Shelley’s legendary novel.
🎭 What to Prepare:
A dramatic monologue (30 seconds to 1 minute)

🧟♂️ Character Breakdown:
🧑🎓 FRANKENSTEIN
A brilliant but arrogant scientist who creates the Monster. Unlike Mary Shelley’s introspective character, Milner’s Frankenstein is a melodramatic figure—abandoning loved ones, hiding his crime, and ultimately confronting the consequences of his ambition.
🧌 THE MONSTER (unnamed in the cast list)
Frankenstein’s creation. Mute and physically imposing, the creature is initially gentle but turns violent after being mistreated. In this version, he is portrayed more as a misunderstood brute than a philosophical being.
👑 PRINCE DEL PIOMBINO
An Italian noble and patron to Frankenstein. He hosts social scenes at court and represents authority and social order.
👨🦳 RITZBERG
Emmeline’s father and a voice of skepticism. He mistrusts Frankenstein and becomes a key figure in protecting Emmeline and the child. He ultimately wounds the Monster, triggering its rage.
🕴️ QUADRO
A crafty and comedic servant in Frankenstein’s household. He provides levity and also plays a part in the household dynamics—often paired with Strutt.
🍷 STRUTT
A loyal but cowardly servant. Known for comic relief. At one point, he’s locked in a cellar and bemoans his fate in a humorous monologue.
🎻 JULIO
A minor character—likely a courtier, musician, or attendant at the Prince’s court. May serve as part of the court entertainment or social background.
👸 ROSAURA
A noblewoman at the Prince’s court. Her exact role varies, but she may serve as a contrast to Emmeline—representing social grace or court intrigue.
👩 EMMELINE
Frankenstein’s forsaken fiancée and mother of his child (a character original to this play). She’s portrayed as virtuous and long-suffering, wandering in a storm with her child. Her plight raises the emotional stakes.
🧕 LISETTA
Likely a lady-in-waiting or companion to Rosaura or Emmeline. Her role is probably small, contributing to the courtly or domestic scenes.
🎭 ENSEMBLE
Nobles, Guards, Peasants, Attendants, etc.
They populate the Sicilian court and countryside settings, emphasizing class contrast and dramatizing key scenes like chases, confrontations, and the climactic storm.
