Follow Your Nose - Cut Your Strings - Unmask Your Being

The Missing Nose Society is an experimental gathering space
weaving together conscious play, theatrical practise & creative writing
in an embodied exploration of the Self and the Other.
Through a weekly series of mytho-theatric & storytelling initiations,
it seeks to re-mystify our lives, our sense of character, the roles we play
and how we relate to one another in the wider world.
Combining different modalities of self-expression & self-surrender,
it endeavours to expand our ways of seeing so that we are better able
to recognise the humanity in others & step a little closer to unmasking ourselves.
Who's It For?

The Society says that all of our different parts deserve a seat at the table. As such, it’s open to anybody who wishes to explore the multiple aspects that make up their being. It welcomes anybody asking questions such as:
- Am I capable of loosening my strings?
(or)
- Who or what is even pulling those strings?
It's ideal for those who:
• Desire to know themselves a little more intimately
through embodying different characters & personalities.
• Bear a close affinity to or want to reconnect with
their childlike sense of play & wonder.
• Seek greater communion with the imaginal realm
through a merging of theatre, play & devotional writing.
• Wish to explore all of the above with a community
built around open-heartedness & radical honesty.
What Can I Expect?
---------------------
- Each weekly session will be built around a theme and will serve as the connecting vertebrae in the larger arc of the continuing workshops.
- Over time, it will cover all manner of theatrical disciplines, including Clowning, Animal-work, Archetypal and Jungian-inspired exercises, while drawing from rich theatre traditions and styles along the way, such as the Theatre of the Oppressed, Brechtian & Ancient Greek theatre.
- Creative writing will both inspire and be inspired by this theatre-work through an organically unfolding call-and-response. We will cover such territories as automatic writing, active imagination, myth-making, poetry & prose.

Theatre can open up pathways into seldom explored or expressed aspects of being. It also allows us to revisit our old favourites – those roles we often find ourselves playing – under a new, creative light. As a vehicle, it enters us into the land of make-believe, so that we might better know ourselves.
We enter into this land together as a collective, supporting one another in our shared journeying. You could think of us as many hands holding a rope, so that every individual member might be guided into the deep well of their psyche and returned safely again to the surface.

Josh is a multidisciplinary creative with over twelve years' experience working as an actor and writer. It is his intention, in starting T.M.N.R, to seed and grow a community that comes together to regard storytelling, theatre and writing as forms of spiritual practise, necessary to the soul's greater journey of individuation.
