MANCHESTER, NH – On Thursday, May 22nd, 2025, Slam Free Or Die - Poetry Open Mic & Slam continues its popular open mic poetry series at Stark Brewing Company. This week there will be an open mic and the REAL second Wheel Slam Qualifier! Doors open at 7pm along with sign ups for the open mic. The show starts at 8pm. There is a $3-$5 cover (cash and Venmo) and this is an all-ages show. (*for more details on Slam Free or Die, scroll to the bottom of this description)
About the Wheel Slam:
A bracketed tournament - in each bracket, two poets come to the stage with no prior written material. The Wheel is spun to select a single word. The poets have four minutes to write something new and original using the word provided. At the end of the four minutes, each poet presents what they have made, and a majority vote from the audience determines which of the two poets advances to the next round. The poet who is victorious over all others will advance to our WHEEL SLAM CHAMPIONSHIP in OCTOBER! (Date confirmed as of April 25th, 2025)
Covid Safety Guidelines:
Our space is pro safety and pro vaccination. We encourage all unvaccinated individuals to wear masks during our show. We will have disposable masks available for those who need or would like one and hand sanitizer will be available throughout the space. We encourage everyone who comes to our show to take safety precautions necessary for their safety and health.
Accessibility Information:
The entrance to our show is at the back of the building with no stairs to enter the space. There is a ramp through the main bar for access to the ADA compliant bathrooms. For any other accessibility questions message our page or ask a staff member at the show.

Slam Free Or Die @ Stark Brewing Company is a series of open mic nights for poets and spoken-word artists every Thursday night in Manchester, NH. There is an open mic every night and poetry slams are also held several times a month. Doors open and sign-ups begin at 7pm with open mic beginning at 8pm.
