The National Garden Scheme gives visitors unique access to over 3,500 exceptional private gardens in England, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Channel Islands, and raises impressive amounts of money for nursing and health charities through admissions, teas and cake.
This is the second year in which Shakespearean Garden in Platt Fields Park will be participating in the Scheme. We have continued to restore and maintain this beautiful haven, and we can't wait to share it with you again. In the last 12 months we have added a new lawn area, a 'woodland walk' and an embryonic fern bed. Come try our sun clock, wander the paths, breathe in the scents, and let the tranquility wash over you.
Join us on Sunday 27 July from 11:30 am to 5.30 pm. We'll have refreshing treats and a few plants for sale. Find out more about our Garden in particular and the idea behind 'Shakespearean Gardens' in general from information boards on display. Whilst you are here you can view the splendid new mural of Rosa Grindon just a stone's throw away near the entrance of the Park on the corner of Mabfield Road.
Through the afternoon entertainment will be provided by Sue and Rachel of the amazing Medieval Jukebox Insta @medievaljukebox. Check back here for other surprises!
Admission is just £5 for adults, and children are free. You can pay on the day or book your ticket in advance using the link below (also for more info).
